Chapter 1: She's Awake!

------------

Tails slurped happily as he ate his chicken flavoured soup, the chef being the one and
only Cream the Rabbit. He turned to face her after devouring yet another spoonful of
the luxurious liquid food.
"This is delicious, Cream!" He said, smiling brightly at the young rabbit. Cream, in return,
blushed a light pink; a shy smile on her face as she sat across from him.
"Thank you, Tails." She replied cheerily, her smile growing wider.
The moment was somewhat ruined by a loud voice, that being the one of Sonic's, that came
from the lab.
Tails groaned, remembering that Sonic had came in his house quite a few minutes ago,
carrying a small, but cute female pink hedgehog.
"Hey Tails, hurry it up!" Sonic called, impatient as ever.
"Coming Sonic!" Tails called back, gobbling up the rest of his food and running out of the kitchen, throwing an apologetic look back at Cream.
She smiled weakly in return, and once he disappeared around the corner, she began to
collect up the dirtied dishes they had used.

Sonic tapped his foot impatiently as he waited the arrival of his best friend, Tails. During
that time, he stole numerous glances at the unconscious pink hedgehog. He couldn't help
but find her attractive, even if he had only just found her.
'I wonder what her voice sounds like? Maybe it's as sweet as her bod- AHHH! What am I
thinking?! Dammit, what's going on with me?!' His heart sped up a few notches at that-
slightly disturbing for him- thought.
He thanked the God's when Tails entered the lab, a small smile on his face.
"Hey Sonic." He greeted, walking up to his main computer and taking a seat, pressing a
series of keys on the keypad, and then attaching a lead to the pink girl.
"I'll have to set up this scanning system, you know, just to see if her vital organs are okay.
If you said you found her, then there's no telling what could have happened to her." Tails
explained, connecting the wires to the appropriate parts of the body.
"Okay... Now to scan..." Tails mumbled as he continued his work, running back over to the
computer once more and typing in the accomindations that were necessary.
"Okay, give it a few moments and it will give us the results on what it's found." Tails
said, drumming his fingers against the metal of his computer desk.
"Thanks Tails." Sonic said, sighing in relief. But, relief for what? Relief that somehow the
girl would be fine? Why did he care? He didn't know her, of course...

"Wow, that was fast." Tails mused, rushing to his printer to collect the information.
Sonic snapped out of his slight daze and looked over at the golden coloured fox.
"Eh? What's going on...?" Tails breathed, clearly confused with the information he
recieved. Sonic walked over, peering over the smaller creatue's shoulder, and made a face.
"Tails, explain this to me. What ever that says, I cannot understand." Sonic huffed, crossing
his arms over his chest in a childish manner.
Tails sighed, and began explaining the process to the dumbfounded blue hedgehog.
"Well, from what I've gathered, this girl isn't human. Nor is she alien or whatever you
want to call her. It's like she's some type of... Android..." Sonic raised a brow, more
confused than ever.
"What'ya getting at, Tails...?" He said slowly, glancing at the sound asleep girl, and then
back to his clever companion. The kitsune in return, sighed loudly, and pointed to the
computer screen.

"She's not like us, Sonic. She's artificial, like Shadow. But somehow, her structure
is far more complex than his. She seems, I don't know, more futile, like whoever made her
just threw her away because she wasn't a successful project." He paused for a moment,
collecting his thoughts. "One question is for sure though. Why would they throw her away?
They could have just fixed the problem that she maintained, resulting in a successful
invention!" Tails began to mumble things along the words of 'science' and 'inventions',
completely forgetting about Sonic and his lack of logic for big words. Sonic, on the other
hand, just stared blankly at the fox.
"Ehh... Forget it... I'll just see if she has a switch or something, like any other machine
has." He walked over to the girl, his eyebrows raised as he looked her over, trying to
find an 'on-switch'.
"Wha...? Where's the switch? She's a machine, like a vacuum! She must have one..."
His eyes trailed over her body once more, until his eyes landed on a small, but sightable
tattoo of sorts resting just below her collar bone.
It was in the shape of a tiny rose; the stem slightly wilted.
His fingers ran over the small tattoo, and it clicked in.
Sonic pulled his hand away, panicking. 'Awh, man! What if I broke her?! Ahhh! What do I
do? What do I do?!'
He looked over at Tails, whom was still in argument with himself over the fact of 'who could
throw such a creation away?' and such.
He turned back to the sleeping machine, and screamed as he came face to face with an
adorable pink hedgehog girl with large, emerald coloured eyes; her head tilted to the side
in confusion as she sat on her calves, leaning on her arms that were in front of her.
"Eh...?" She sounded softly, her voice sweet and heavenly.
Sonic's eyes unconsciously travelled down her body, where the tight bandages had
loosened considerably, revealing much more than before. His face turned bright crimson
as he swirled around, his eyes closed as he fell slowly to the floor, landing in a heap as
he fainted.
"Huh...? Sonic?" Tails said, just realising that the blue hedgehog lie sprawled out on the
ground with the pink hedgehog looming over him, poking th blue one's nose with her
pointer finger.
Sonic made a goofy smile in his sleep, his blush still evident on his cheeks as he gave
a slight giggle...
"She's awake, Tails..."
